Efficacy report of Butachlor 50%EC against weeds
in summer maize
1. Trial conditions
1.1 Crop and object experimented
Summer maize and weeds mainly including dallis grass (Echinochloa crusgalli
(L)Beauv), Crabgrass (Ditaria sanguinalis(L,) Scop), and Wiregrass (Eleusine
indica(L,) Gaertn).
1.2 Environment conditons
During test period (from 1st ,June to 10th, July), average temperature
kept at 24.9¡æ (22.2¡ælowest and 37.2¡æ highest) and rainfall was 12.8mm.
Rainwater was relative abundant during late period.
2. Trial design and arrangement
2.1 Trial pesticide
Butachlor 50%EC manufactured by Saturn Agrochemical INC.
2.2 Contrast pesticide:
Atrazine 38%SC, manufactured by Jiangsu Zhongshan Chemical Industry Co.,
Ltd.
2.3 Application dosage
Butachlor 50%EC 250ml/667m2;
Butachlor 50%EC 200ml/667m2;
Butachlor 50%EC 150ml/667m2;
Atrzine 38%SC 200ml/667m2;
Blank contrast
2.4 Trial design
The trial includes 5 disposals in total, four repeatition. The area of
each spot is 20m2. Spray leaves by Yangtse Rive-10 sprayer with 50kg water/667m2.
Maize was direct seeding.
3 . Investigation
3 .1 Soil information
The soil is sand soil with 1.26% of organic matter, PH 7.5. Anterior stubble
was wheat.
3 .2 Disease investigation
Investigate the survival seeds after spray for 20d and 40d and add fresh
weight¡¯s investigation 40d later. Randomly select 3 dots, 0.11m2/dot.
After treatment, observe maize growth to decide if pesticide hurt existed.
4. Trial Result
The trial results were as follows:
From the results, the control effect of total
weeds of Butachlor 50%EC was kept rising by the increased dosage from
80.47% to 89.83% which was higher than that of Atrazine 38%SC 20d later.
After treatment for 40d, butachlor 50%EC could
most effectively control dallis grass. For dallis grass, the control effect
of disposals at 175ml/667m2 and 200ml/667m2 dosage level all kept 90%
above which was obvious higher than that of disposal sprayed Atrazine
38%SC, 73.21%. For Atrazine 38%SC, it could most effectively control wiregrass
with control effect 90% above, similar to that of butachlor 50%EC at 200ml/667m2
dosage level. For total weeds, the control effects of Butachlor 50%EC
was obvious higher than that of Atrazine 38%SC.
After eyeballing, the plant height and leaf color of disposals treated
with Butachlor 50%EC were all similar to that of blank contrast. No abnormity
was found.
5. Conclusion and analysis
The trial showed that Butachlor 50%EC can effectively control dallis grass,
crabgrass and wiregrass. It can control weed harm and safe to maize growth.
According to test results and economy cost, recommend the dosage level
at 175-200ml/667m2 with 50kg/667m2.
